What you’ll do:
Based in Port Moresby and reporting to the Senior Communications Officer, the Communications Officer will support the planning and delivery of effective internal and external communications to enhance the Santos Foundation's reputation, profile and stakeholder engagement.
Key accountabilities include:
• Drafting, editing and coordinating high-quality communication materials including media releases, website content, newsletters, speeches, briefing notes, reports and social media content
• Supporting the management of digital channels including social media platforms and website content, monitoring engagement and assisting with performance reporting and analytics
• Supporting media relations activities including preparing media materials, maintaining media contact lists and responding to media enquiries under guidance
• Assisting in the planning, coordination and delivery of internal and external events including launches, stakeholder forums, conferences and community engagement activities
• Supporting the identification of award opportunities and assisting with the preparation of award submissions
• Assisting in coordinating communications with external stakeholders, partners and community groups
• Providing administrative and project support to the Senior Communications Officer including scheduling, document management and reporting.
What you’ll bring:
You will have:
• Some professional experience in a communications, public relations, marketing or related role, preferably in a development context
• Experience supporting events, campaigns or stakeholder engagement activities
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in digital tools including content management systems and social media platforms
• A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, events management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
