What you’ll do:
Based in Port Moresby, the Finance Adviser reports to the Finance Manager of Santos Foundation and is responsible and accountable for providing monthly consolidated management reports for both PNG and Australia jurisdictions. The role ensures accuracy of data is maintained in SAP for all donor reporting, including updating of SAP master data (project structures and WBS) to reflect donor reporting requirements.
Key accountabilities include:
Preparing monthly donations received reports for Finance Manager review
Preparing monthly PNG and Australia cost tracker templates for Finance Manager review
Acting as business partner for Program Management teams to ensure accounting matters are appropriately explained and issues resolved in a timely manner
Leading monthly Program Management performance meetings reviewing expenditures against budget or reforecast for Santos-funded programs
Preparing monthly PNG and Australia group cost allocations reporting for Finance Manager review
Preparing monthly PNG and Australia consolidated reporting templates for Finance Manager review
Preparing the latest 12-month expenditure forecast for Finance Manager review
Preparing the month-end donor cash balance report for Finance Manager review
Preparing monthly accruals and correcting entries for all Foundation trial balances (PNG, Australia, Timor-Leste and Alaska) as required
Preparing monthly Santos reimbursement requests for Finance Manager review
Supporting the completion of monthly external donor reporting templates with the Finance Reporting Senior Manager
Assisting with year-end financial close and reporting activities as required
Assisting with audit queries by providing required supporting documents
Ad hoc requests as directed by the Finance Manager, Finance Services Senior Manager or Finance Reporting Senior Manager
Ensuring compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS), Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA), and Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.
What you’ll bring:
You will be experienced in:
A minimum of five years in a General Ledger or equivalent role
Five to ten years in a Finance Reporting or Finance Business Partner role
Strong compliance and financial control experience
Proven experience in monthly expenditure reporting, analysis and forecasting
Proven experience in preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and clearing of aged items
Demonstrated experience sourcing, sorting and reporting data from SAP or other ERP system
Demonstrated experience in Power BI dashboard reporting
Good PC skills with medium to advanced skills in Excel
Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with a multicultural workforce
Ability to work independently without direction and use initiative in resolving issues
High-level analytical, conceptual thinking and communication skills, both oral and written
 
Ideally, you will hold a degree in accounting, finance or business management and be CPA qualified, or demonstrate significant training and experience within a directly relevant role within a large corporate environment.
