At Amazon Logistics (AMZL), we are building a world-class last mile operation, significantly complimented by our brand new service, which works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With this new last mile delivery service, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. It is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to on board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more. The approach and technology are nothing short of disruptive, and promise to challenge traditional approaches, and change the way the industry operates.

We are continuing to build a high paced and lean Japan team to implement and expand our last mile capabilities across key segments of Japan Transportation business. Amazon is now looking to hire an experienced, passionate, dynamic, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and (most importantly) customer-obsessed Field Operations Program Manager.

We are seeking a Program Manager in Japan to help establish Amazon Logistics last mile delivery as the preferred provider in this specific space in order to build our network of Delivery Partners to drive the Safety environment, product utilization and service optimization within the Amazon Logistics world. Internally, this leader will work directly with the last-mile Delivery Stations and with functions that cut across the organization, including Safety team, technology, transportation, operations and customer service, to drive a great customer experience for our program.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, highly analytical and detail-oriented, possess superior interpersonal and communication skills, and be comfortable working independently to drive growth and change in a fast-paced environment. An great bias for action is an absolute must, and candidates must demonstrate a superior track record of delivering results.

A day in the life
Flex Field Operation Manager Daily Responsibilities

Flex Field Operation Managers serve as general managers of the Amazon Flex program in their regions, focusing on five core daily activities :

Safety & Driver Experience: Deep dive into daily and weekly delivery partner (DP) feedback to identify and resolve safety issues, monitor Voice of Driver (VOD) metrics to spot underperforming stations, and conduct frequent station visits to audit the driver experience firsthand.

Station Communications: Act as the first point of contact for delivery stations with a 1-business-day response SLA, address escalations and inquiries from station operators, proactively reach out to discuss exceptions and improvement opportunities, and attend regional daily business reviews (DBRs) and weekly business reviews (WBRs).

Metrics Analysis & Action: Perform daily deep dives on sites with out-of-tolerance metrics (Fill Rate, BWND, Delivery Honor Rate, VOD), conduct weekly performance reviews on key metrics (ROBL, Volume caps, Same Day PFSD DEA, P90 UTR Time), and drive implementation of corrective actions based on findings.

Policy & Process Compliance: Ensure delivery stations follow standard work and Amazon Flex policies, identify operational challenges impacting delivery partners, and drive either adherence to existing processes or recommend changes to standard work when needed.

Ad-Hoc Support: Handle experimental requests and special projects requiring deep regional knowledge or station leadership engagement, investigate complex issues like pool challenges affecting multiple business lines, and support station and business launches.

- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in a role requiring application of analytic skills to integrate data into operational planning or program management or SCM or similar field

- Experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or a related field
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment to deliver high-quality design solutions
- Experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent
