Summary: The QA Analyst will be responsible for planning and accomplishing both manual & automated testing and improving overall quality assurance practices. The position requires strong Oracle database knowledge for the Data Services group of a complex rule based multi-channel marketing campaign platform that supports Fortune 100 companies. The position’s purpose includes, but is not limited to: Provide services to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the testing effort. Work with the team to accomplish shared project goals. Design, develop and implement automated test cases and test scripts. Develop automated tests. Review test cases and procedures to ensure coverage of and conformance to business requirements. Complete testing as required according to test plan and project goals. Communicate testing progress and results in a timely and accurate manner. Review and continually improve quality assurance practices, including creation and update of documentation related to quality assurance processes and guidelines. Provide impact analysis and regression testing of software changes. Stay ahead of with technology, tools and software quality assurance practices and share knowledge with others. Responsibilities Develop test plans and tools to thoroughly test Oracle software on Linux platform. Implement manual and automated tests and improve test coverage. Collaborate with developers, testers, project managers, business analysts and business users in conceptualizing, estimating, building, and testing new software applications and enhancements. Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, providing time estimates for programming tasks and implementation plans. Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s objectives, business requirements, deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with internal users and departments. Develop technical documentation to define the system components, development environment and implementation planning/strategies. Prepare and dispense work assignments, provide guidance, and/or review the work of other team members. Collaborate with QA team to define test cases, metrics, and resolve questions about test results. Recommend business process flow improvements and clearly communicate problem/resolution process to project management. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) Work with multi-functional teams during crisis to address and resolve complex incidents and problems in addition to assessment, analysis, and resolution of multi-functional issues. Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures associated with development require improvement and helps in the process improvement activity. Update/create Knowledge Base Articles and case studies as necessary. Assist in the creation and improvement of Knowledge Management Qualifications Tester with 5-9 years of experience required. Excellent skills in Oracle PL/SQL Hands-on experience on testing Unix Shell scripts Experienced in handling large volumes of data – for ex: dealing with tables that occupy hundreds of GBs. Excellent in impact-analysis and root cause analysis. Good experience on Automation Testing, Knowledge of various automation tools Experience with API & Web Services testing Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with ability to anticipate and avoid problems. Experience in performance testing, application monitoring and support of production applications with distributed teams. Ability to work within tight deadlines and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and an ability to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management, including communicating technical information to nontechnical audiences. Ability to design and build flexible and extensible systems with focus on code reuse and generation. Experience in identifying the test strategy, test scenarios for back-end of systems. Preferred qualifications Educational Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech) in Computer Science, or equivalent Technical Experience working with Git / TFGS or any other Version control systems. ADO preferred. Experience in Informatica PowerCenter 10 Experience in automotive marketing and/or CRM applications preferred. Knowledge of database architecture and best practices for Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Non-Technical Good Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems quickly to maintain operational stability. Motivated to learn new applications and domains. Possess appetite for learning through exploration and reverse engineering. Strong time management skills. Ability to take full ownership of tasks and projects.
