| Job Goal: To coordinate instructional services by providing support to the administrators, literacy coaches and teachers at each middle school, so that every child is involved in an educational program that meets his or her learning and supports mastery of the skills required to demonstrate the educational outcomes of the Oldham County Schools. |

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least ten years successful experience in teaching and school administration.
- A master's degree or higher.
- A valid superintendent's certificate or Supervisor of Instruction Certificate.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates individual professional development opportunities for middle school principals in the areas of leadership, instructional and operational leadership.
- Assists the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning in the supervision and evaluation of the middle school principals.
- Coordinates and directs curriculum planning, development, and implementation in all educational areas in order to continually improve the instructional results for the middle schools, to reach the district's learning outcomes, and to meet the requirements identified by the Legislature and Board.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Serves, as necessary, in the absence of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Support Services and Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning, as the chief administrative officer of the school district.
- Attends board meetings and prepares such reports for the Board as the Superintendent may request.
- Prepares drafts of needed Board policies and administrative rules in areas of responsibility for the Superintendent's review and action.
- Researches and gathers information on a variety of results-based programs and instructional strategies that would enhance the educational programs available to middle and high school students, alerts principals and teachers to these programs for their potential value to students and supports implementation of same.
- Responds to and provides support to middle school principals in the development and implementation of instructional programs.
- Works with middle schools in developing, implementing, and monitoring Comprehensive School Improvement Plans and formulating recommendations to the Superintendent and the Board related to the improvement of the instructional program.
- Participates in strategic planning and Comprehensive Improvement Planning for the district.
- Oversees Professional Growth Plans and Individual Corrective Action Plans at the middle schools.
- Coordinates and facilitates the induction of middle school faculty and staff new to the district.
- Provides oversight for the District Assessment Coordinator. Will lead and support the elementary and high school directors with implementation.
- Provides oversight to middle school athletic programs in conjunction with the High School Level Director.
- Provide oversight and compliance with Title III programing.
- Coordinate transition planning from middle school to high school.
- Coordinate all special populations for the middle school level.
- Assist and help middle school complete data analysis throughout the year.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning may assign.
