Work Hours: 7.5 hours/day
Contract Length: 194 Days
Student Support Other Salary Schedule: (Non-CBA)

$46,366 - $80,687

Job Description:
The Behavior Coach supports students and staff by implementing behavior interventions, coaching, and systems of support designed to improve student behavior, academic
outcomes, and the overall school environment. This position collaborates with school staff to assess student behavior, develop individualized support plans, and provide training and
consultation on effective behavior management strategies in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
1. BehavioraL Assessments:

o Observe students and assess behavior to identify patterns and underlying causes.
o Collect and analyze data on student behavior and progress to inform and adjust interventions.
o Report behavior data regularly to the Behavior Interventionist to support data-driven decision-making.

2. Individualized Support Plans:

o Create and implement strategies for managing specific behavioral challenges.
o Develop positive alternatives and coping strategies tailored to student needs.

3. Collaboration and Consultation:

o Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other school. staff to address students' behavioral needs and progress.
o Offer coaching and professional development on effective behavior management in the school. setting.
o Provide guidance and support to families to help reinforce behavior strategies at home.

4. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL):

o Lead or support SEL programs to help students build self-awareness, empathy, conflict resolution, and relationship skills.
o Implement strategies that promote emotional regulation and appropriate social interaction.

5. Crisis Intervention:

o Provide immediate support to students facing behavioral challenges or crises.
o Train school staff in de-escalation techniques and behavior intervention strategies.

6. Progress Monitoring:

o Track and analyze data on student behavior.
o Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
o Provide consistent reports to the Behavior Interventionist and relevant school staff.

7. Fostering Positive School Climate:

o Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
o Support and help implement school-wide behavior initiatives to improve school culture and reduce disruptions.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
At least two years of experience working in a school setting with students exhibiting behavioral challenges.
Strong understanding of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MISS), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
Ability to collect, interpret, and act upon behavioral data.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience training and coaching staff in behavior strategies.
Ability to remain calm and solution-focused during crisis situations.
Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain preferred.
 

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment: On-Site attendance is mandatory for this position. Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
