
Middle School Special Education Teacher
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated special education teacher to join Fox River Grove Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor student IEP needs in compliance with state and federal law and district procedures.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Design and implement appropriate lesson plans that align with learning standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Provide instruction tailored to students' unique learning styles.
- Implement evidence-based strategies to support students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and other exceptionalities in the least restrictive environment.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP goals, and intervention strategies.
- Advocate for students, fostering independence, confidence, and self-advocacy skills.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to implement IEPs.
- Maintain open and ongoing communication with families, providing regular updates on their child's progress.
- Supervise paraprofessionals as needed
- Attend professional development sessions, staff meetings, and training to stay informed about best practices in education.
Required Qualifications:
Current Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS 1 endorsement
