JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Production Team Lead
Department: Operations
Reports to: Operations Supervisor
This position is 2nd shift.
The Standard Working Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 3:00PM-11:30PM.
The shift will have a $1.25/hour shift premium.
Position Summary
The Production Team Lead continues to be a working lead. He/She is responsible for the leadership, mentorship, training and safety of production team members. He/she will develop SOPs to ensure people are properly trained and well aware of expectations of their role, equipment is properly maintained or notifies Supervisor or their designee of repairs or maintenance beyond general maintenance. Facilitates and enables a culture of continuous improvement through employee training, interactions with Associates and empowerment. Ownership of all aspects of designated work center; 5S, Safety, Quality, Schedule Attainment, Productivity, Leading Special Projects, Planned Maintenance. Meets or exceeds department metrics.
Essential Job Functions
- Produces product along side team in assigned work center
- Provides daily leadership and supervision to assigned team members in designated work center. Involves and engages employees through regular team meetings, department goal setting and individual development plans.
- Provides training, coaching, and feedback to direct reports
- Reviews, develops, updates and trains team members to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)-Work Instructions.
- Ensures the team is appropriately trained and following all required regulations, safety procedures and equipment usage. Coordinates with Supervisor and HR on required trainings to ensure all required certifications for team are up to date to ensure compliance.
- Ensures alignment of team members and other departments to meet On Time In Full (OTIF) Objectives through coordination of schedules, staffing requirements, production sequencing to maximize productivity, quality standards.
- Coordinates with Production Planning, Supervisor, other Team Leaders and Customer Service to deliver the best Customer Experience
- Ensures the Team is demonstrating the FlavorSum Core Values and is delivering world class internal and external customer experiences
- Department is in compliance with SQF standards at all times
- Works closely with Finance to coordinate team members to assist with accurate and timely cycle counts of raw materials.
- Assists with annual physical inventory as assigned.
- Leads and supports implementation of departmental improvements. Initiates action as needed or submissions through Summit and Safety Committees.
- Meets or exceeds department metrics. Works with Supervisor to ensure they and their team members know what success looks like through a full understanding of metrics and how to drive improvement.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School diploma required. Post secondary education a plus.
Work Experience:
- Requires 2-5 years of direct experience in a managerial/leadership role. Previous demonstrated leadership competencies preferred.
- Experienced with functioning within ERP systems.
- Strong computer skill-set/Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Industry Knowledge:
- Food manufacturing environment helpful, but not required.

Hard Skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs-50 lbs. as needed
- Sit and stand for long periods of time as needed
- A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and ERP systems experience and working knowledge.
- Must be capable of completing training in:
- Safety, HAZCOM, HAZMAT & HAZWOPER
- Forklift Certification
- GMP
- Biosecurity and Food Defense
- Any other training needs that arise
