
Shipping & Receiving Team Lead - 2nd Shift
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be the conduit for the company, the plant, and the materials department to effectively communicate information concerning schedules, overtime, assignments, and departmental
changes to employees in assigned area
• Assist supervisor in overseeing all employees in assigned area
• Ensure teammates follow assignments and schedules
• Serve as the trainer of new employees for the shipping and receiving department
• Monitor all personnel in assigned area for adherence to company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, etc.)
• Serve as leader for associates in assigned area in group problem solving and employee involvement activity
• Assist in cycle counting of warehouse inventories when required
• Assist in auditing inbound and outbound shipments when required
• Be certified to operate a forklift and train new hires to operate a forklift
• Must be trained and able to generate shipping documents, export papers as needed, accurately operate shipping and receiving equipment including bar code equipment and UPS
machine
• Must be able to load trucks with finished goods for customers, verifying shipper with product loaded
• Unload, receive in, and put away in proper location purchased material after quantity verification and inspection
• Maintain high level of organization in keeping warehouse organized and clean
• Responsible for seeing that stock is rotated (FIFO – First In / First Out)
• Stage and correctly label all outbound product
• Professional and exceptional communication with internal and external customers
• Confirm and update shipping documents to comply with customer regulations
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, etc.), and comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hi-lo license required
- Be able to perform multiple tasks
- Good mathematical ability
- Forklift driving skills
- Computer skills
- FIFO comprehension
