Job Description

Are you passionate about digital marketing and using data to uncover what drives growth? Are you excited about shaping how customers discover our products across every touchpoint? Do you want to combine strategic thinking with emerging AI tools to help a marketing team work smarter and faster? If so, come join our Central Marketing team in Amazon Devices Japan, where your work will directly influence how we reach and engage customers across Amazon.co.jp and beyond.

We are looking for a full-time Online Marketing Manager to join our Central Marketing team in Tokyo. This role is for a strategic thinker with a holistic view of traffic — someone who can connect the dots across channels, identify where the biggest opportunities lie, and drive the team towards smarter, more strategic decisions.

You will join a team responsible for driving online customer experiences across all marketing moments — product launches, seasonal campaigns, and always-on initiatives. Your primary focus will be traffic strategy and performance — leading analytics, identifying opportunities, and championing automation to make the team more effective. You will bring a performance marketing mindset — always measuring, always optimizing — while staying close enough to campaign execution to understand the customer experience your insights inform.

Key job responsibilities
• Owning traffic strategy and performance across all marketing channels (onsite and external), identifying trends, diagnosing anomalies, and surfacing strategic opportunities to the team.
• Leading weekly business reviews, providing the team with a clear narrative on traffic performance, channel efficiency, and key metrics.
• Driving new traffic acquisition — exploring emerging channels, experimenting with new approaches, testing hypotheses, and scaling what works.
• Evaluating and optimizing the media mix, targeting, and traffic investment across channels, measuring through-funnel effectiveness to ensure traffic drives conversion.
• Developing and maintaining traffic reporting frameworks and dashboards that give clear visibility into acquisition, conversion, and customer engagement.
• Championing AI and automation to innovate how the team operates — from automated anomaly detection and reporting to developing new solutions that reduce manual effort and enable the team to focus on strategic, high-impact work.
• Using AI-powered tools to accelerate data analysis, generate insights from traffic and campaign data, and identify patterns that inform strategic decisions.
• Supporting product launches and seasonal campaigns with traffic planning, performance forecasting, and post-campaign analysis.
• Enabling the broader team to adopt data-driven and AI-powered ways of working — sharing best practices, building reusable frameworks, and raising the team’s overall capability in analytics and automation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product, design, data science, and international teams to align strategies with business objectives.

A day in the life
• Act as the voice of the customer, understanding how they discover and engage with our products, and ensuring traffic strategies are rooted in real customer behaviour.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute traffic initiatives that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and conversion across channels.
• Analyse traffic data to identify performance trends, anomalies, and growth opportunities across onsite and external channels.
• Apply AI tools to accelerate analysis and generate actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Lead traffic performance discussions and provide strategic recommendations to cross-functional partners.
• Design and improve automated workflows that reduce manual reporting and enable the team to focus on higher-value work.
• Collaborate with OM peers on traffic planning for launches and campaigns, and support execution as needed during high-traffic moments.
• Experiment with new channels and optimization approaches, measuring results and scaling successes.
• Partner with international teams to share best practices and align on global traffic strategies.
