Graduate Electronics Engineer
Job Description
About us
The Sensor Electronics Engineer is part of the SEA Hardware Electronics. He/she will be working with engineers on multiple R&D projects to develop various sensing systems and technologies using off-the-shelve sensor parts/modules. The role responsibilities will cover the following areas:
Develop cost-effective sensing technologies to use for a given problem.
Design, build, test and analyse the sensing systems.
Develop and tune the sensing algorithms as part of the product feature development.
Actively collaborate with other function teams (electronic, mechanical, embedded SW, test team, etc) for the full sensing systems integration and to ensure product and system requirements are fully met.
Taking designs from early proof of concept through development and into production.
Liaise with external suppliers and third parties on Dyson's product requirements, ensuring smooth communication throughout the partnership.
In your first year you will…
Be challenged to solve complex problems in novel ways.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate creative solution into Dyson products.
Work with product owners to capture requirements and select appropriate sensing and actuating technologies.
Take designs through Dyson design process, present and participate in design review.
Motivate and mentor graduate and regular engineers on your team.
Requirements
A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Electronics Engineering, Physics)
Some working experience in design, implementation, testing, analysis and characterization of off-the-shelve sensors such as (but not limited to) IMU, magnetic, pressure, hall-effect, photo optic, gas-sensor etc
Experience in various gas sensors (e.g. dust, NO2, TVOC, CO2, etc) is advantageous.
Experience with quantitative and statistical data analysis using Matlab or Python for sensing algorithm development.
Experience with analogue signal conditioning and digital processing design techniques is good to have.
Experience using hardware lab equipment.
Experience in schematic / layout design and review is a plus.
Experience with analysis/troubleshooting skills and tools.
Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing to executive level and regular engineers
