
Personal Lines Account Manager
Job Description
Alera Group is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Account Manager II to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and servicing a book of personal lines business, delivering exceptional client service, supporting retention efforts, and identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships through additional coverage solutions. The ideal candidate is client-focused, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping evaluate coverage needs, guide renewal strategy, and ensure a high-quality client experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Relationship Management & Service
- Manage and service a book of personal lines business, including Pinnacle and multi-policy accounts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by proactively reviewing coverage needs, identifying gaps, and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Support account retention efforts through responsive service, relationship management, and proactive renewal strategy.
- Complete applications, endorsements, policy changes, renewals, billing inquiries, and related servicing requests accurately and efficiently.
- Rate, quote, review, and bind personal lines risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines and agency workflows.
- Design and present insurance solutions that align with client needs and risk exposures.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client questions, service requests, and coverage concerns.
- Participate in client meetings as needed to review existing programs, market strategy, and coverage recommendations.
Growth & Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional products, services, or coverage solutions.
- Generate referrals and support new business growth initiatives where appropriate.
- Promote agency programs, resources, and value-added services that enhance the client experience.
Operational Excellence & Team Collaboration
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation within agency management systems.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, internal workflows, and service standards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, carriers, and agency partners to support strong client outcomes.
- Continuously evaluate processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Participate in training, agency initiatives, and professional development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Personal Lines insurance account management experience.
- Active insurance producer license required.
- Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products, markets, underwriting guidelines, and carrier offerings.
- Excellent client service, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.
- Proficiency with agency management systems and relevant technology tools.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience managing Pinnacle, high-net-worth, or multi-policy personal lines accounts.
- Experience with proactive client account reviews and consultative coverage discussions.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Compensation:
Salary range: $55,000 – $75,000 per year, based on experience.

This role is Hybrid opportunity, working 3 or less days at the New Bedford office location.

Licensure & Certifications
This position may require:
Active Property & Casualty License
Ability to obtain required licensure within 3 months of hire
