Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and supervise all functions of the Maintenance Department, ensuring the efficient operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of processing equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment in optimal working conditions to support daily production requirements, minimize downtime, and ensure co\mpliance with safety and operational standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and uphold the Vision, Mission, and Values of Allen Harim. 
  • Supervise and lead maintenance team members responsible for the repair, service, and preventive maintenance of plant equipment and facility systems. 
  • Ensure all processing and production equipment is maintained in safe and efficient operating condition to support daily production requirements and minimize downtime. 
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including wiring, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, and shop machinery. 
  • Oversee the setup, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and teardown of automated production equipment. 
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal operational efficiency in accordance with Allen Harim standards. 
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and extend equipment life. 
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical guidance to maintenance employees to ensure safe work practices and efficient operations. 
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies, food safety requirements, and regulatory standards. 
  • Serve as backup to the Maintenance Management as needed and assist with departmental leadership responsibilities. 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma, College Degree Preferred
  • Must have 5 plus years' experience in poultry maintenance or food manufacturing experience.
  • Must have experience with food processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of pipe fitting, Shop Machinery, Automatic Equipment etc.

Knowledge/Skills

  • PC skills required (MS Office)-Basic
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required- Advanced
  • High degree of attention to detail- Advanced
  • Excellent Communications skills as frequent communication is required- Advanced


Supervisory Responsibilities

List the supervisory responsibilities the position must perform; include the department or position titles responsible for and the level of authority exercised in performing the responsibilities

  • Directly supervise maintenance personnel in the area. Reports and receives general direction from the Operations Manager and be able to serve as back-up when needed.

  • Must have the ability to enter all areas of the plant and offices being exposed to temperatures (Hot and Cold) as well as exposure to different levels of noise. 
  • Must have the ability to enter all areas of the plant and offices.
  • Must be able to climb and crawl in confined spaces.

Work Environment

 

  • Work environment is predominantly wet and exposed to a variety of odors as well as presenting with hot and cold temperatures. Ice box storage and chilled warehouse conditions may be present with moderate to extreme levels of noise. Safety protection is provided.
