Retirement Services Education Consultant
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a dynamic education program resulting in successful participant outcomes. Uses Retirement Services knowledge, dynamic presentation skills and adult learning approaches to lead interactions with external customers and conduct educational presentations. Analyzes the effectiveness of program elements and works on the continued improvement of the educational program.
Responsibilities:
Consults with clients to determine participant education needs. Reviews clients’ retirement plan provisions and investment options to customize presentation materials. Handles client/participant telephone calls, questions and correspondence as needed.
Conducts employee education meetings, providing information related to saving for retirement, plan features, investment education and other topics as needed. Professionally addresses challenges within the presentation setting.
Identifies onboarding challenges and communicates with appropriate internal partners to resolve them effectively.
Handles onboarding and education functions for all retirement plan products.
Develops and manages presentation materials for participant retirement and investment education meetings to achieve desired objectives and business impact. Materials may include guides, workbooks, scripts, handouts, communication plans, simulations and visual, web-based, multi-media programs.
Works with internal partners to develop or adjust processes/materials to improve education services. Leads team efforts to maintain and improve presentation materials to achieve desired objectives and business impact.
Superb communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations covering complex topics in an engaging and easy-to-understand style.
Analyzes education effectiveness and participant retirement readiness to identify areas for improvement. Stays abreast of industry trends and topics to maintain effectiveness of education programs. Assists management in establishing long-range participant outcome objectives and developing annual participant outcome plan.
Uses retirement planning tools designed for plan participants and assists them with retirement planning strategies.
Builds productive relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to form a seamless integration of service delivery.
Follows up on requests in a timely manner to ensure satisfactory conclusions.
Acts as a resource product expert for team members and other departments. Serves as Mentor/Trainer to new and existing Education Specialists.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Four or more years of experience in the retirement plan or investment industry, specifically focusing on qualified plans is preferred.
Experience in training and development is preferred.
Retirement plan or investment industry designations such as CEBS, CFP, CPC, QKA or APA is preferred.
