Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us at Telia.

I’m Hans Rasmussen, Head of Customer Interaction in Norway IT, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a supportive, forward-thinking team focused on building AI-powered capabilities and agentic solutions that enhance customer and employee experiences across Telia’s digital platforms.

What you’ll do:

You’ll design and develop agentic AI solutions that solve real customer problems in production, working at the intersection of modern software engineering and applied AI.

  • Design and develop agentic AI solutions and conversational interfaces that solve real customer problems in production
  • Integrate AI agents with internal and external systems via APIs, performing prompt engineering and continuous quality improvement
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and product teams to identify and deliver high-value AI use cases
  • Explore emerging AI technologies and frameworks, evaluating their practical potential across our platforms

What will help you thrive in this role:

You’re curious by nature, passionate about AI’s practical potential, and you know how to turn experimental ideas into robust, maintainable software.

  • Proven experience in software engineering with hands-on exposure to AI/ML integrations, LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-powered product development
  • Strong knowledge of Python and Java, with experience in LLM APIs, RAG patterns, prompt engineering, and API-first integration
  • Ability to evaluate and apply emerging AI technologies pragmatically, balancing innovation with production quality
  • Fluency in English; Norwegian is a plus
  • Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, and taking ownership of the quality and correctness of AI-generated code
