Job Description
- Administering the virtual computing environment (such as VMware vSphere)
- Administering monitoring solutions for virtual environments
- Patch management, managing backups and restores
- Administering, supporting and monitoring of hardware servers, fibre optic fabrics and data storage
- Troubleshooting of virtual environments
- Tuning, optimizing and capacity planning
- Recommending and implementing best practices and security standards
- Updating the technical documentation and operating procedures
- Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures
- Providing 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinating with 3rd line of support
- Participation in coordination and project meetings- Other specific duties aligned to profile as assigned by supervisor
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of IT experience.
- Experience in administration of complex and large virtual environments (such as VMware vSphere or Nutanix)
- Experience with virtual environments’ monitoring tools (such as VMware Aria Operations)
- Experience updating and upgrading virtual environments and related products
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Experience in collaborating with multiple support groups
- Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes
- Good organizational and prioritising skills
- A proactive attitude, team-work spirit, being self-motivated with a strong user orientation
- Good communication skills
- Able to cope with fast changing technologies
- Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure certificate (NCP-MCI)
- Experience with Vmware vSAN
- Experience with HPE SAN Storage arrays (e.g., HPE Primera)
- Good knowdledge of English equal to B2 according to CERF levels.
