Job Description

The Vice President, Automotive Parts & General Manager, PartSource provides enterprise leadership for Canadian Tire’s Automotive Parts ecosystem, with end to end accountability for Automotive Parts merchandising and PartSource banner performance. This role shapes category and banner strategy, drives profitable growth, and advances the operational and digital capabilities required to win in a rapidly evolving automotive aftermarket.


Reporting to the SVP, Chief Merchant, CTR, the VP leads large, cross functional teams and partners closely with Supply Chain, Digital & Technology, Store Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Dealer partners to deliver a compelling, customer centric automotive parts offer across retail and commercial channels.

What you will do:

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Set and execute the enterprise strategy for Automotive Parts and operations, ensuring alignment with broader company growth, margin, and customer experience objectives.

  • Lead the PartSource banner strategy, balancing retail and commercial customer needs while strengthening PartSource’s market positioning and performance.

  • Identify and act on emerging trends and risks presented in the automotive industry.

Merchandising & Category Excellence

  • Own category vision, assortment strategy, pricing, promotions, vendor and lifecycle management for Automotive Parts.

  • Drive data‑informed decision making through advanced analytics, forecasting, and supplier insights.

  • Ensure assortments meet the needs of DIY, DIFM, and professional customer segments, while maintaining strong in‑stock and service levels.

Banner Performance & Operations

  • Accountable for PartSource P&L performance, including sales growth, margin, inventory productivity, and operating effectiveness.

  • Partner with Operations and Field teams to enhance execution, store standards, commercial programs, and in‑store experience.

  • Champion simplification, scalability, and process excellence across merchandising and banner operations.

Digital, Technology & Enablement

  • Collaborate with Technology teams to build and execute on roadmap priorities that support automotive parts strategy.

Talent & Culture Leadership

  • Build and lead a high‑performing, diverse leadership team across merchandising and PartSource.

  • Develop succession pipelines for critical VP and AVP‑level roles and foster enterprise talent mobility.

  • Role‑model inclusive, values‑based leadership, and a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Enterprise Partnership & Governance

  • Serve as a senior enterprise leader working in partnership with the Vice President of CTR Automotive, to influence cross‑banner and cross‑category strategy discussions.

  • Partner with Dealers to strengthen relationships, drive performance, and align on growth priorities.

  • Provide clear, executive‑level communication to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

What You Bring:

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in merchandising, retail, or multi‑unit operations, ideally within automotive, hardgoods, or adjacent categories.

  • Proven experience leading large, complex portfolios with P&L accountability.

  • Strong understanding of omnichannel retail, commercial customers, and supply chain dynamics.

Leadership Capabilities

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into executable plans.

  • Highly collaborative enterprise leader with strong influencing skills.

  • Track record of building, developing, and retaining high‑performing leadership teams.
