- Candidates who are not currently certified or actively pursuing certification will also be considered.
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a school leadership role (e.g., Assistant Principal, Dean, Grade-Level Leader) required
- At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
- Proven track record of achievement and measurable results
- Strong commitment to improving the quality of urban education, especially for historically underserved students
Candidates who do not meet the above qualifications will not be considered.
Note: Selected applicants may be invited to serve as a Principal Resident in preparation for future appointment as a charter school Principal.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership and foster strong professional relationships within the school community, including the Board, staff, students, families, and external partners
- Champion high academic and behavioral standards to ensure excellence in student achievement
- Model and uphold a culture of high expectations, accountability, and professionalism
- Lead policy development related to discipline, attendance, and student conduct
- Guide faculty in curriculum planning and instructional best practices
- Manage and ensure compliance with required reports to authorizers, funders, and regulatory agencies
- Participate in the recruitment, mentoring, and development of staff
- Supervise and evaluate instructional and support staff
- Coordinate and support school-wide events and programs
- Oversee building operations, including maintenance of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials
- Ensure smooth and effective day-to-day school operations
- Starting Salary: $178,000 (Uncertified is $131,000), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
