About this Role:
Consertus is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a healthcare construction background to support healthcare systems, medical campuses, clinics, laboratories, and life sciences facilities throughout Southwest Washington and the Olympic Peninsula region.
This position will serve clients from South Tacoma through Vancouver, Washington, extending west to the coast and north through the Peninsula, including Port Angeles and surrounding communities. The role will support capital improvement programs, phased occupied renovations, infrastructure upgrades, strategic planning efforts, and new facility development projects.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who thrives in complex environments, understands the unique operational challenges of healthcare facilities, and can successfully guide projects from planning through occupancy while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Delivery
Lead all phases of project delivery including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, activation, and closeout.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk logs, and reporting tools.
Support strategic capital planning initiatives and long-range facility planning efforts.
Coordinate phased construction activities within active healthcare environments to minimize impacts to patients, providers, staff, and operations.
Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, and maintain action item tracking.
Healthcare & Life Sciences Oversight
Manage healthcare and life sciences projects in compliance with regulatory requirements, patient safety standards, Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) planning, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM/ISLM), mitigation strategies, and applicable codes.
Coordinate with healthcare stakeholders including clinical leadership, facilities teams, infection prevention, IT/AV, imaging, laboratory, and operational departments.
Review and monitor construction activities for compliance with design intent, operational requirements, and quality standards.
Conduct regular project site visits, progress meetings, and quality reviews.
Support commissioning, activation, transition planning, and occupancy readiness activities.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare executives, facility directors, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictional authorities.
Serve as a trusted advisor and owner’s representative throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare executive-level presentations, project status reports, cost summaries, and schedule updates.
Facilitate coordination between owners, architects, engineers, contractors, AHJs, and vendors.
Cost, Schedule & Risk Management
Track budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and change management processes.
Review change order proposals, schedule impacts, and cost estimates for accuracy and completeness.
Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to cost, schedule, and operations.
Support value engineering and operational optimization efforts.
Regional Leadership & Business Development
Support continued growth of Consertus’ Healthcare & Life Sciences presence throughout Southwest Washington and the Peninsula region.
Participate in industry organizations and networking events including healthcare, engineering, and construction associations.
Assist with proposals, interviews, client pursuits, and strategic business development initiatives.
Help mentor and support junior staff and project team members.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of project management or owner’s representative experience in healthcare, life sciences, or complex commercial construction.
Experience managing occupied healthcare renovations, phased construction, and/or clinical operations coordination.
Strong understanding of healthcare building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, low-voltage, and medical equipment coordination.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, ADA requirements, life safety compliance, and infection prevention practices.
Strong understanding of Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM/ISLM), healthcare infection prevention protocols, and life safety requirements within occupied healthcare facilities.
Experience coordinating construction activities in active healthcare environments while maintaining patient safety, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance.
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across a large geographic territory.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera, or similar project management platforms.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Southwest Washington and the Olympic Peninsula region.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Experience serving as an owner’s representative or program manager for healthcare clients.
Experience with healthcare campus planning, master planning, and capital program management.
Familiarity with Washington State healthcare permitting and regulatory environments.
Experience delivering public works projects and coordinating with public agencies, municipalities, healthcare districts, regulatory authorities, and jurisdictional review groups.
Familiarity with Washington State public procurement processes, GC/CM delivery, alternative public works methods, and public funding environments.
Preferred Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional)
CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
CHC (Certified Healthcare Constructor)
DBIA Certification

Working Hours:
Full-time, exempt position.
Hybrid work environment with regional travel required.
Primary coverage area includes Southwest Washington, the Washington Coast, and the Olympic Peninsula, including Port Angeles.
Compensation:
$125,000-$150,000 annually; compensation based on experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
