Overview
We’re looking for a Robot Lab Manager to keep our humanoid robot lab running through the graveyard shift (1 AM - 9AM). This is a hands-on role — you’ll be responsible for fault response, minor repairs, and making sure the day team has what they need to hit the ground running. You will be solely responsible for the robot lab throughout the night. Your main focus is to keep the robots and our team of remote teleoperators working to farm data.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to robot faults and get stations back online.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs (cables, connectors, diagnosing motor issues, fixture adjustments).
- Reset test environments between sessions.
- Interpret logs and write clear handoff notes for the engineering team.
- Keep the lab stocked and organized.
- Perform inventory management tasks and keep our 3D printer farm running.
- Audit and produce pilot performance reports.
Who You Are
Mechanically inclined and comfortable working independently. You take ownership of problems without needing someone looking over your shoulder. A strong written communicator — your fault notes are what engineering reads at 8AM. You are passionate about maintaining reliable systems and do not shy away from consistently logging issues to make a better product.
Experience and Skills
1+ years in a lab, manufacturing, or warehousing environment. Comfortable with hand tools, light mechanical repair, and electrical work. Able to read system logs or error output and draw reasonable conclusions. Clear, concise written communicator. Experience with 3D printers is a plus!
Expected Compensation
$25 - $33/hour + equity + benefits
This compensation range may be inclusive of several career levels at Ultra and will be narrowed during the interview process based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
