Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Horticulturist – PMO Infrastructure Projects to join our team!
In this role, you will support the Road Program by providing expert technical oversight of horticultural design, construction, and sustainability across large-scale infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide PMO-level oversight and technical governance of horticultural components across multiple road corridor projects within the Road Program.
- Review and evaluate horticultural design submissions prepared by design consultants, including planting strategies, species selection, soil specifications, and irrigation approaches, ensuring compliance with PMO standards, project objectives, and environmental requirements.
- Ensure alignment of planting design with arid climate conditions, water efficiency targets, and long-term operational and maintenance considerations.
- Coordinate with landscape architects, irrigation engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure fully integrated and coordinated landscape delivery across disciplines.
- Interface with individual PMCM teams to monitor implementation of horticultural works on site, ensuring compliance with approved IFC drawings and specifications.
- Review and approve contractor submittals related to plant material, soil composition, fertilizers, and planting methodologies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess plant health, installation quality, and establishment performance.
- Establish and review landscape maintenance and establishment strategies.
- Prepare and contribute to technical reports, review comments, and presentations to support PMO decision-making and client reporting.
- Advise on and enforce sustainability strategies including water conservation and native planting.
- Support development of standardized horticultural guidelines across the Road Program.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience on large-scale infrastructure or public realm projects.
- Expertise in arid-region horticulture, including species selection and landscape performance.
- Strong knowledge of soil science, irrigation systems, and plant physiology.
- Experience in design review and construction monitoring of horticultural works.
- Familiarity with local Authority Standards and Environmental Regulations.
