As a Senior Electronic Board level repair, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for delivering high-quality repair solutions and supporting parts recovery operations within our distribution center. You’ll play a critical role in diagnosing, repairing, and reclaiming components from consumer electronics, helping ensure fast turnaround times, cost efficiency, and quality standards are met. Your work directly contributes to getting amazing tech back into the hands of our customers across Canada.
Availability Requirements
- Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:30pm
- Flexibility to work Saturdays, 7:00am – 3:30pm as required
- Due to business needs, shifts may change
What you’ll do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform board-level repairs on laptop, cell phone and other electronic devices, including component-level replacements (ICs, BGA rework, capacitors, resistors, connectors, etc.)
- Test, dismantle, and reclaim components from electronic devices to support repair operations
- Perform refurbishment activities such as testing, data wiping, and cleaning components (e.g., hard drives, motherboards)
- Read and interpret schematics, boardviews, and circuit diagrams to support advanced diagnostics
- Use specialized tools including soldering stations, hot air rework equipment, multimeters, oscilloscope and microscopes
- Conduct post-repair testing and quality checks to ensure devices meet functionality and reliability standards
- Maintain accurate repair documentation, inventory records, and reporting
- Support forecasting of parts usage and assist in reporting for business optimization
- Assist in testing new parts from vendors and identifying quality or compatibility concerns
- Follow all ESD, safety, and quality procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Perform light material handling duties (up to 50 lbs)
What we’re looking for
- 3+ year of experience in board-level repair or electronics repair (laptops preferred)
- Minimum 6 months experience in a service center or similar environment
- Strong soldering BGA rework and micro-soldering skills
- Experience diagnosing and repairing motherboard-level issues independently
- Familiarity with schematics, boardview software, and diagnostic tools Experience in inventory management and parts identification
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Nice to have
- Consumer Electronics Diploma or related education
- A+ Certification or Electronics Repair certification
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, SQL)
- Experience with SMART PARTS inventory system
- Experience with major laptop brands (Apple, HP, Dell, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Microsoft Surface)
- Experience with liquid damage repair and power rail/USB-C diagnostics
- Vendor interaction and data analysis experience

Base pay range
Hourly pay rate: $21.78 - $22.60This job is eligible for a company performance bonus in addition to the compensation range above.
