HR Group

Job Description:

Bp is reimagining energy for people and our planet.

We provide heat, light, and mobility to customers worldwide. We’re fundamentally redefining what we do, so we can reach net zero by 2050 or sooner. We also have a strong mission to help the whole world reach net zero too – working across our industry to improve people’s lives.

It’s a big value to us that the differences we see in the world around us are reflected in our workplace. Who you are is what counts, not where you’re from or how you live your life. A culture that values everyone benefits all of us. That’s why, to help our people thrive, we cultivate a truly diverse and inclusive environment.

The People Relations Senior Advisor will be a focal point for the integrated management of the People Relations activities across South Europe region as Subject Matter Expert (SME) working in a global team.
As Senior People Relations Specialist, you will support the Regional People Relations Manager in executing the people relations strategy across the region. You play a key role in preparing, coordinating and implementing employee and industrial relations activities, enabling the organization to operate effectively, compliantly and with a future-focused approach.

In this role, you will combine deep Employee Relations / Industrial Relations expertise with strong process and partner management capabilities. You act as a first point of contact for complex people relations matters
and contribute to strengthening capability across HR and the business. You will also ensure that PR plans, tools and systems are implemented in a rigorous and consistent manner, bearing in mind project and country specific
requirements to effectively manage and mitigate identified risks.
This role will provide dedicated support to Castellón Refinery people relations (approximately 50%) and will also support other businesses in Spain, and countries across the South Europe region as required.

We operate in a hybrid work model, requiring four days per week in the office.

Key Accountabilities:

Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Support the execution of the regional ER/IR strategy.

  • Independently coordinate, prepare and solve ER and IR cases, including grievances, disciplinary processes, internal investigations and consultation matters in close collaboration with our central ER-Advisory team in Budapest. Prepare legal documents as required.

  • Act as the primary sparring partner for HR Business Partners and business leaders on complex employee relations topics.

  • Prepare escalations to the PR Manager, including risk analyses and scenario planning.

  • Coordinate collaboration with external lawyers as required.

  • Assess risk exposure (legal, reputational, operational) and recommend appropriate actions.

Negotiations & consultation

  • Prepare and support negotiations with employee representative bodies and trade unions (e.g. collective labour agreements, social plans and other collective arrangements). Be prepared to apply commercial edge.

  • Provide content and process support for consultation and negotiation trajectories, including documentation, Q&A materials and communication content.

  • Coordinate works council consultation processes and ensure the involvement of the right partners, timing and consistency.

Works council & partner management

  • Support the PR Manager in managing works council processes across the countries in scope.

  • Align with HR, Legal, Reward and business partners to ensure consultation obligations are met accurately and on time.

  • Contribute to standard processes and further professionalization of consultation and employee participation processes (e.g. related to group policy rollouts).

Change & organisational development

  • Support major organisational changes such as reorganisations, harmonisation initiatives, acquisitions and divestments.

  • Identify ER/IR risks linked to change initiatives and advise on appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Contribute to workforce analyses and insights related to collectivism and critical risk.

Capability & tooling

  • Create and implement practical tools, policies and training (e.g. ER/IR 101) for HR and business leaders.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and upskilling within People Relations and HR Business Partner teams.

  • Actively support continuous improvement of processes and ways of working.

  • Keep internal policy documentation up to date.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Proven experience with:

Knowledge & skills

  • Excellent negotiation awareness and conflict management skills.

  • Strong influencing skills, able to advise without formal authority.

  • Sound sense of governance, structure and planning.

  • Continuous learning attitude with a focus on improvement.

  • Collaborative approach while maintaining independence of judgment.

What we offer:

  • A high-impact, content-rich role within an international organization.

  • Close collaboration with senior stakeholders and exposure at a strategic level.

  • Opportunities for professional growth within People Relations and HR leadership.
