Position Summary:

As a Senior Accountant you will be a key part of the Global Controllership group. You will be based in Breukelen and report to the Director, Global Accounting. This position will be a part of the European Accounting team and work closely with the Global Accounting and Finance teams to execute a timely and accurate monthly close and support US GAAP and local accounting standards.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties:  

• Lead a strong month-end close process, including (but not limited to): 
  -Apply multi-element revenue recognition under US GAAP and IFRS 
  -Review Work in Progress (WIP) positions. 
  -Account for foreign currency transactions 
  -Review intercompany recharges 
  -Prepare account reconciliations for your assigned areas in accordance with US SOX requirements. Reconciliations should be of high quality, timely, and easily understood. 
  -Strong experience in preparing accurate journal entries supported by high-quality documentation, demonstrating a clear understanding of the underlying transactions 

• Accounting compliance with both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards  

• Preparation of annual reports to the Chamber of Commerce or other regulatory bodies in Europe.  

• Review and reconcile VAT returns. 

• Review daily activities such as invoices, payment proposal, bank transactions, etc.  

• Lead payroll accounting processes, including (but not limited to): 
  -Working closely with HR and Payroll team in US to ensure we pay our employees timely and accurately 
  -Reconciling payroll monthly journals, GL balances with system reports and payments 
   

Required Skills/Experience 

• An HBO education (Economic direction) 

• 6+ years of relevant experience in a dynamic international environment 

• Strong experience with both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards  

• Affinity with IT is required, experience with Oracle is an advantage 

• Good knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables 

• Fluent command of Dutch, both oral and written 

• Good command of English, both oral and in writing 

• Highly collaborative communication style and proactive 

• Excellent organizational skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail 
   

Location:   

Hybrid work with 1 day per week in the Breukelen office
