Now looking to build our Power Scholars team for the Summer of 2026! Looking for a motivated director candidate looking to make an impact this summer!
Under the supervision of the Power Scholars Program Director, the Assistant Director is responsible to support the administration and overall daily operation of all Enrichment and Academic Achievement Gap summer programming, and will work as part of a staff team to encourage SEL enrichment and plan and execute family events. The Assistant Director will represent the Old Colony Y in a positive, professional manner, resulting in friendly, convenient, and courteous service. The Assistant Director will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the creation and instruction of high quality summer programming for children, and will ensure a safe, healthy and constructive environment for all participants. The Assistant Director will display and encourage the character traits of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, as well as the values of the Developmental Assets consistent with the Old Colony Y.
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take a lead administrative role with all components of Old Colony Y’s Power Scholars program
- Refer youth and assist families in accessing additional wraparound resources of OCY and
community - Serve as a liaison between families/youth and all partner agencies, ensuring a high level of
communication - Maintain accurate records regarding youth/families, contacts, and files
- If Director is unavailable, responsible for supervising staff team composed of Enrichment Leaders and Senior Enrichment staff as needed for summer programming
- Assist in recruiting, developing, and training of Enrichment Instructors for all enrichment and summer programs in accordance with critical positive youth development, trauma-informed care
and child safety guidelines - Support director in scheduling staff for all required programming and training and work to fill gaps with substitute staff as needed
