Job Description
Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Jr. Industrial Engineer.
Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you’ll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Lead and execute initiatives that improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product and process quality. This role supports business unit goals through Lean practices, standardized work, and digital tools aligned with EBS, ECIS, and Industry 4.0. Key responsibilities include VSM planning, OEE tracking, machine capacity and labor management, layout optimization, cost-out execution, and compliance with standard work processes. It also involves maintaining system documentation, coaching in Lean tools and driving continuous improvement across the plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Lead and analyze mid-to-large scale improvement projects using data-driven tools to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost, aligned with business unit goals.
B. Develop, deploy, and audit standardized work (STW), including SWIP, to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
C. Manage machine capacity by auditing cycle times, ensuring preventive maintenance, and approving equipment disposals and acquisitions. A verification process must be established to compare actual cycle time vs. target; based on the results, an action plan should be followed.
D. Define and track OEE targets, monitor performance indicators, and lead corrective action plans in collaboration with the Business Unit Operations Leader to ensure a team-driven approach.
E. Conduct labor planning meetings to align headcount (HC) and overtime (OT) with demand for direct and indirect labor, ensuring agreements with the Production Leader and developing action plans when assigned staffing levels deviate from established standards.
F. Maintain and update process documentation including layouts, routings in Oracle ERP, and 5S+ standard documents.
G. Plan and execute layout changes, machine movements, upgrades, and LMF designs to optimize manufacturing flow.
H. Design and manage the operating plan: calculate capacity after changeovers, plan CO quantity per ME sequence, and define inventory (SMKT & WIP before and after stations).
I. Support digital manufacturing initiatives (I4.0), ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with CI efforts.
J. Coach teams in Lean tools, lead Kaizen events, and deploy training to sustain Lean certifications and continuous improvement culture.
K. Ensure compliance with standard processes (5S+, Gemba, LSTW, TIER II, IDB, Ideas Program, A3 follow-up).
L. Contribute to the site’s Operational Assessment (OpA) and Eaton Business System (EBS) goals by supporting structured improvement systems
M. Contribute to cost-out initiatives and profit plan targets (OEE, Cycle Time, OT, HC), identifying savings opportunities, driving execution, and tracking cost-out performance for assigned business units in collaboration with the Business Unit Operations Leader to ensure target achievement.
N. Promotes the company’s vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.

Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
A. 1 to 2 years of experience in lean/industrial engineering in automotive industry required.
B. knowledge of industrial engineering time and motion analysis in automotive environment.
C. Working knowledge of cost-benefit evaluation, and productivity metrics (OEE & PPLH).
D. Knowledge of AutoCAD for layout management. Simulation software dessirable.
E. Basic Knowledge of GD&T.
F. Basic Knowledge of Quality Core Tools and international Quality Standards (IATF, ISO, VDA).
G. Industrial Engineering degree or related fields required. (Quality, Statistics, preferred)
H. English – language capability, speaking, reading and writing required.
I. Six Sigma Green Belt would be a plus.
J. Solid knowledge of engineering techniques & manufacturing processes.
K. Knowledge of the manufacturing process and basic machine tool concepts.
L. Knowledge of behavioral science, including the ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with people at all levels.
M. Leadership skills must be capable of leading CI projects and teams.
N. Holding one or more Eaton Lean tools certifications (VSM, Standard Work, 5S+, BPS, would be a needed if is an internal candidate.
O. Digitalization tools knowledge (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) would be a plus.

The knowledge of a wide range of problem-solving tools and methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select and apply them to make data-based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality. - Intermediate must be capable to lead and coach problem solving techniques
B. ECIS Leadership. (a) facilitating development and deployment of enterprise-wide Eaton Lean/Six Sigma strategies, resulting in implementation plans with SMART goals that are linked to business strategy and profit plans; (b) developing and implementing effective training plans for all levels of the organization that help develop and sustain a continuous improvement culture, (c) serving as an ELSS deployment leader by coordinating and monitoring projects / implementation plans and driving accountability throughout the organization; and (d) effectively integrating ECIS, EBS Pull, OpA (Operations Assessment) and transferable practices, within the organization as part of how they do business. - Intermediate must be an expert in leading STW, 5S, VSM, LMF Problem Solving.
C. Lean Tools. (a) the ability to identify applicable Lean tools in the given business environment (b) the ability to see Lean tools, kaizens / RIE's and ECIS as part of a continuous improvement system; (c) the ability to assess deployment of applicable Lean tools and systems to identify and address gaps.
D. Manufacturing and Business Process. Manufacturing and Business Process competency addresses the understanding of manufacturing / business processes, capabilities, limitations and process control requirements as well as business strategy (i.e., capital intensity, manufacturing footprint, and make versus buy decisions) and how manufacturing process decisions integrate and support the strategy. EBS Elements / Tools closely related to ELSS: EQS, PROLaunch, EHS and MESH, Materials Management, Strategic and Annual Plans, etc. – INTERMEDIATE
E. Total Work System Knowledge. Total Work System Knowledge competency addresses: (1) Understanding of the objective, approach and criteria of Eaton’s Total Work System and its ELSS related elements / tools, covered within EBS and usually assessed by the EBEA process, (2) understanding of the parent organizations goals related to these EBS elements and their interactions with ELSS deployment and outcome, (3) the ability to integrate the requirements of all these EBS elements / tools with the processes for deploying ELSS, reviewing progress and sustaining the benefits. EBS Elements / Tools closely related to ELSS: EQS, PROLaunch, EHS and MESH, Materials Management, Strategic and Annual Plans, EBS Pull, OpA, etc. -
