Department: Sales
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Remote
Description
The Senior Solution Consultant (SC) plays a critical role in enabling Infor’s success within the automotive and discrete manufacturing industries, combining deep industry understanding with enterprise solution expertise. The SC partners with sales leadership to engage customers in value‑led, outcome‑driven conversations, helping prospects and customers understand how Infor solutions address their strategic, operational, and commercial challenges.
Rather than focusing purely on features and functions, the SC brings industry credibility, speaks the language of operations, engineering, supply chain, and logistics, and translates complex business challenges into compelling solution approaches. The role is particularly focused on automotive OEMs, Tier suppliers, and globally operating manufacturing organisations.
As a senior member of the Solution Consulting team, you will work closely with Sales, Value Engineering, Services, Product, and partners to drive successful licence engagements and long‑term customer outcomes.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes
Acting as the industry and solution lead throughout the sales cycle, engaging prospects in:
- Business discovery sessions
- Executive and operational workshops
- Value‑based solution overviews
- Scripted and non‑scripted demonstrations
- Follow‑up discussions focused on outcomes rather than functionality
- Partnering with Account Executives to:
- Shape account and opportunity strategy
- Define solution scope aligned to customer business challenges
- Prepare for senior‑level customer interactions within operations, supply chain, logistics, and engineering organisations
Leading solution demonstrations that:
- Emphasise business impact, process improvement, and value creation
- Are tailored to different stakeholder levels (upper‑middle management, business leaders, operational experts)
- Go beyond “show and tell” to demonstrate how Infor supports real‑world automotive and manufacturing scenarios
Engaging customers in conversations around:
- Supply chain orchestration and end‑to‑end process flows
- OEM and Tier‑supplier collaboration
- Production, materials, and logistics complexity
- PLM, configuration, revision, and engineering change control
- The impact of automation and emerging technologies (including AI) on manufacturing and supplier ecosystems
Contributing to the ongoing development of the Solution Consulting community by:
- Sharing industry knowledge, use cases, and best practices
- Helping evolve demo content and discovery approaches
- Supporting marketing events, trade shows, and customer engagements
Basic Qualifications
- Significant experience (typically 7+ years) working in or with automotive, Tier‑supplier, or complex discrete manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, ideally including:
- OEM / Tier‑supplier interaction
- Production and materials flows
- Logistics and resource management
- Project‑driven vs. line‑based manufacturing models
- Background in engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar, or equivalent hands‑on industry experience.
- Experience working with ERP solutions in a manufacturing context (Infor LN strongly preferred, but not mandatory).
- Ability to operate confidently with upper‑middle management, leading discovery discussions and value‑based conversations.
- Fluent English (additional European languages such as German or Dutch are advantageous).
- Willingness to travel (up to ~50%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience working inside an automotive OEM or Tier supplier, or in a consulting role deeply embedded in automotive manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with:
- PLM, configuration management, and revision control
- Spare parts, engineering change processes, and variant configuration
- Commercial dynamics in automotive manufacturing (volume commitments, contract structures, pricing pressure)
- Experience transitioning from delivery or implementation roles into more value‑oriented, pre‑sales consulting engagements.
- Exposure to globally operating manufacturing organisations (multiple sites, international supply chains, 2,500+ employees).
