Office of Information Services

The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health, human, and employment services through the application of information technology. OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. What You Will Do

As the M365 Product Support Specialist, you will provide front-line support for Microsoft 365 products including, but not limited to SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and Copilot. As the first point of contact for user issues, you will perform basic administrative tasks, routine maintenance activities, and participate in Governance activities and projects supporting M365.  

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide front‑line support for Microsoft 365 apps and services, including troubleshooting Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Office issues, and guiding users on core features and best practices.
  • Monitor service health, report issues, manage licenses and basic configurations, and maintain user, contact, distribution list, and Microsoft 365 group information.
  • Maintain SharePoint sites by updating content, navigation, libraries, lists, permissions, metadata, templates, and performing routine audits and cleanup.
  • Support Power Platform by assisting with basic Power Apps development, creating simple Power Automate flows, guiding citizen developers, testing solutions, and maintaining component libraries and documentation.
  • Create and maintain user guides, knowledge articles, training materials, tutorials, and communications on new features, service updates, and best practices.
  • Track service metrics, usage, and adoption; generate routine reports; support compliance data collection, security monitoring, and maintain service catalogs.
  • Support M365 governance by communicating policies, ensuring adherence to standards, contributing to governance documentation, and assisting with governance‑related projects and reviews.
  • Stay current on Microsoft 365 roadmap updates and governance policies to support informed decision‑making and user guidance.

Schedule: Full-time.

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Location: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities - Columbus, Akron, or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicant's home address.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following: 

Option 1

  • 48 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: 
    Installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and/or administering/operating multiple technology domains;
  • 12 months work experience in specified primary technology (Office Productivity Suite).

Option 2

  • Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems;
  • 30 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: 
  • Installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and/or administering/operating multiple technology domains;
  • 12 months work experience in specified primary technology (Office Productivity Suite).

Option 3

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems;
  • 24 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: 
  • Installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, and/or administering/operating multiple technology domains;
  • 12 months work experience in specified primary technology (Office Productivity Suite).

Option 3

  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Range Schedule, Pay Range 35. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $41.81 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
