Senior Test & Integration Engineer CTSC
Summary:
Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking a Senior Test & Integration Engineer to join our growing team in Gilbert, AZ. The Senior Test & Integration Engineer is responsible for defining test parameters, developing automated and manual test procedures, leading system integration activities, owning acceptance criteria, and ensuring systems meet all technical, functional, and performance requirements. This position also supports formal quality events—including First Article Inspection (FAI)—and works closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless system bringup, verification, and validation.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Define system test parameters, performance metrics, environmental conditions, and verification requirements across hardware, software, network, and sensor subsystems.
• Develop, document, and maintain formal test plans, test cases, test scripts, and automated test code.
• Lead system integration test events including lab integration, field integration, functional verification, and end to end system testing.
• Own and maintain acceptance criteria for subsystem and system level requirements; ensure traceability to contractual and regulatory standards.
• Conduct hand-on testing, data collection, data analysis, and troubleshooting during integration and test activities.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve system level issues across compute, network, sensors, and application software.
• Support development of verification cross reference matrices (VCRM) and ensure test evidence is properly recorded.
• Lead defect tracking, verification of fixes, regression testing, and closure activities in coordination with software and hardware teams.
• Coordinate integration readiness activities including configuration management, test environment setup, and interface validation.
• Support formal acceptance events including FAI, FAT, SAT, and customer demonstrations by preparing documentation, test results, and system performance evidence.
• Develop and maintain automated test tools, scripts, logging utilities, and diagnostics to improve test repeatability and efficiency.
• Provide technical input to system design, architecture decisions, and requirements decomposition with a focus on testability and integration risk reduction.
• Document test results through periodic and scheduled reports; communicate findings to Project Managers, Systems Engineering, and company leadership.
• Support fielded systems, assist Field Service Representatives with troubleshooting, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action development.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of system testing, integration engineering, verification/validation, or related experience.
• Experience writing system test procedures, automated test scripts, and acceptance test documentation.
• Strong understanding of hardwaresoftware integration including sensors, networks, compute platforms, and embedded systems.
• Handson experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and test management or defecttracking tools.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary technical activities and communicate complex issues clearly.
• Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation and meet criteria for a U.S. Governmentissued security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting FAI, FAT, SAT, or similar formal acceptance events.
• Experience with reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) considerations and data analysis.
• Experience in Government or defense contracting environments.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or JIRA.
• Experience with continuous integration pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and hardware in the loop testing.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
• Work is typically performed in an office, laboratory, or integration environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, bend, kneel, handle equipment, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
