Talent Pool Creation - Intelligence Analyst – Corrections Intelligence Group – Corrective Services NSW

 

  • Clerk Grade 5/6, salary $99,938 - $110,271 pa plus superannuation and leave loading
  • Location – Corrections Intelligence Group, Silverwater
  • Talent Pool to be created for future ongoing and temporary positions

 

The Corrections Intelligence Group (CIG) provides high level intelligence support to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) stakeholders and various law enforcement agencies. Intelligence products disseminated by the CIG assist with decision making processes around the management of offenders in custody and under community corrections supervision.

 

Your role

 

The Intelligence Analyst Officer undertakes analysis on information, intelligence holdings, data, and incidents with a view to identify security threats and safety risks for offenders both in custody and under community supervision.

You will be required to collate and analyse intelligence information from various internal and external sources and coordinate next steps which may include alerting appropriate management for further action.

 

What we’re looking for

 

Applicants for this role are required to have an understanding of the role of intelligence in the correctional environment (or equivalent), be able to manage and develop team members, possess sound analytical, communication and report writing skills and have knowledge of and experience in the use of computerised systems.

 

Further requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in intelligence or relevant industry experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of the intelligence cycle
  • Experience within law enforcement, intelligence or government security environments is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to develop rapport and strong working relationships
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Maintain confidentiality, information handling and security requirements
