BEV Fleet & Maintenance Lead
Job Description
Build the future standard for zero-emission fleet performance
Are you ready to move beyond maintaining today’s operations — and instead define how electric fleets should perform in the future?
At Arriva, the Zero Emission (ZE) transition is transforming not just our vehicles, but the entire way we manage, maintain and optimise our fleets. We are looking for a specialist who will define and build the next-generation BEV fleet and maintenance model across Europe.
This is not an operational role. It is a transformation role, focused on setting standards, driving structural improvements and embedding best-in-class performance across all our operations.
What will you do
You will lead the BEV Fleet & Maintenance Excellence domain at Group level, focusing on standardisation, performance improvement and long-term capability building.
Define the future operating model
Develop the target model for BEV fleet maintenance (organisation, capabilities, lifecycle approach)
Define group-wide standards for maintenance concepts, diagnostics and fleet performance management
Drive structural performance improvement
Identify systemic gaps in availability, reliability, cost and battery performance
Translate insights into group-wide improvement initiatives
Convert learnings into scalable standards and playbooks
Build and own standards
Develop, maintain and continuously improve fleet and maintenance standards
Ensure standards are practical, scalable and based on operational performance
Challenge and innovate
Challenge existing practices and OEM approaches
Drive innovation in lifecycle optimisation, diagnostics and data-driven maintenance
What we can offer
Working at Arriva in this role will give you a strong mandate to make steps forward in the energy transition and sustainable public transportation. Not just ambitious plans, but measurable reduction of emissions and optimisations.
The international scope of the role means you get to really take charge of your subject, while you benefit from the informal working culture in an ambitious international team and work with multiple different nationalities.
About you: skills, knowledge and the person behind the profile
You are a HOW person, who is naturally inclined towards the practical application of general principles and strategy. If you don’t think a plan can be put to practice, what’s the point in writing a plan in the first place? It’s all about progress and impact, both for the company and the environment.
Your main talent is your ability to make the translation from the international strategic plan to local execution. This means that you’re a creative person who enjoys building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, we think you need the following skills and competences:
Strong experience in fleet engineering, maintenance or asset management
Proven ability to improve performance beyond local or short-term fixes
Experience with BEV or strong motivation to specialise in electrification
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
Fluent in English
You focus on defining and improving how things should work — at scale.
Our selection process
If you decide to apply for this position, here’s what will happen: on June 28th the position will close and your CV and motivational letter will be screened. When selected there will follow a couple of interviews with the hiring manager and counterparts in the business.
