BEV Operations Planning Lead
Job Description
Redefine how electric operations are planned
Are you ready to reshape how public transport operations are planned in a zero-emission world?
Electrification introduces new constraints and opportunities — from charging integration to range optimisation. At Arriva, we are building a new, standardised way of planning BEV operations across all countries.
We are looking for a specialist who will define, standardise and continuously improve BEV planning methodologies, ensuring operational robustness and efficiency at scale.
What will you do
You will lead the BEV Operations Planning Excellence domain, focusing on methodology design, optimisation and standardisation.
Define the planning framework
Develop the group standard for BEV scheduling and planning
Define how range, charging and flexibility constraints are integrated
Establish principles balancing efficiency and operational robustness
Drive structural improvements
Identify systemic inefficiencies in planning (fleet sizing, utilisation, risk exposure)
Develop improved planning approaches and optimisation methods
Translate these into scalable standards and frameworks
Ensure practical applicability
Validate planning methodologies against real operational performance
Ensure solutions are robust and implementable in practice
Embed excellence across the organisation
Enable adoption of new planning standards across countries
Create a consistent, high-quality planning approach internationally
What we can offer
Working at Arriva in this role will give you a strong mandate to make steps forward in the energy transition and sustainable public transportation. Not just ambitious plans, but measurable reduction of emissions and optimizations.
The international scope of the role means you get to really take charge of your subject, while you benefit from the informal working culture in an ambitious international team and work with multiple different nationalities.
About you: skills, knowledge and the person behind the profile
You are a HOW person, who is naturally inclined towards the practical application of general principles and strategy. If you don’t think a plan can be put to practice, what’s the point in writing a plan in the first place? It’s all about progress and impact, both for the company and the environment.
Your main talent is your ability to make the translation from the international strategic plan to local execution. This means that you’re a creative person who enjoys building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
You are a planning expert who combines analytical strength with practical insight.
Strong experience in transport planning, scheduling or optimisation
Experience with complex operational systems and constraints
Experience in BEV operations
Strong analytical and structured thinking skills
Fluent in English
You focus on building planning methods that work consistently across all operations.
Our selection process
If you decide to apply for this position, here’s what will happen: on June 28th the position will close and your CV and motivational letter will be screened. When selected there will follow a couple of interviews with the hiring manager and counterparts in the business.
