Summary
The Lot Porter supports the dealership’s service and sales operations by greeting customers, moving vehicles safely, maintaining lot organization, and assisting service advisors. The role requires strong attention to detail, urgency, communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Customer Greeting — Welcome customers in a friendly, professional manner and assist them promptly.
- Vehicle Protection — Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, and floor mats as needed.
- Advisor Coordination — Identify the customer’s service advisor and notify them upon arrival.
- Vehicle Movement — Drive vehicles from the service lane to designated parking areas and retrieve them when service is complete.
- Lot Organization — Maintain a clean, orderly parking lot and work area.
- Sales Support — Move and position vehicles to support sales displays and dealership presentation.
- Clerical Support — Perform basic administrative tasks as assigned by management.
- Safety Reporting — Report any safety or integrity concerns to management immediately.
- License Compliance — Maintain a valid driver’s license and report any status changes.
Qualifications
- Attention to Detail — Ensures vehicles and the lot are handled with care.
- Sense of Urgency — Works efficiently in a fast‑paced service environment.
- Communication Skills — Clear, professional interaction with customers and staff.
- Basic Computer Skills — For clerical and service‑related tasks.
- Acceptable Driving Record — Must meet dealership and insurance requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License
