Job Description

Own automation, uptime, and electrical performance in a scaling deep-tech factory

At Smart High Tech, we are industrialising advanced graphene-based materials that enable next-generation AI systems, electronics, and data centres.

We are now scaling production—and with that comes a critical requirement: reliable, precise, and high-performing automation and electrical systems.

We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician – Electrical & Automation who will take ownership of this domain.

Your mission

You ensure that our production runs stable, safe, and at full performance.

You are:

  • The technical authority in electrical systems and automation

  • A key driver of uptime, reliability, and energy efficiency

  • A central contributor to scaling production without disruption

What you will do

Maintenance & operational reliability

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and automation systems

  • Work with PLCs, control systems, frequency converters, and instrumentation

  • Lead advanced fault diagnosis in complex production environments

  • Ensure calibration, accuracy, and functionality of control equipment

  • Maintain and update technical documentation and electrical schematics

Continuous improvement & problem solving

  • Drive root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions

  • Improve system reliability, uptime, and energy efficiency

  • Identify recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions

  • Act as a technical mentor and elevate team competence

New equipment & industrialisation

  • Participate in installation and commissioning of new equipment

  • Lead electrical and automation validation in FAT and SAT

  • Verify PLC logic, SCADA interfaces, and system integration

  • Ensure systems meet specifications before production start

Key interfaces

You will work closely with:

  • Facility & Maintenance Manager

  • Mechanical & Cooling Maintenance

  • Production & Engineering

  • External suppliers and equipment vendors

Who you are

You combine deep technical expertise with ownership and execution.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Mechatronics

  • Certified and authorised for electrical work (Swedish regulations)

  • Strong experience in PLC programming and control systems

  • Minimum ~8 years in industrial maintenance, with focus on automation

  • Experience with:

    • SCADA systems

    • OPC communication

    • MES interfaces

    • CMMS systems

  • Solid understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles

  • Trained in electrical safety, LOTO, and relevant AFS standards

How you work

  • Structured and analytical in troubleshooting

  • Calm and precise under pressure

  • Hands-on and solution-oriented

  • A natural mentor who builds team capability

  • Driven by improving systems, not just fixing them

What we offer

This is a role for someone who wants technical ownership at scale.

You will:

  • Own automation and electrical systems in a high-tech production environment

  • Work with advanced processes (thermal systems, coating, precision manufacturing)

  • Play a critical role in scaling a factory from development to global production

  • Be part of a team where competence, accountability, and execution matter

  • Influence how systems are built—not just maintained

What success looks like

Within 6–12 months, you have:

  • Established high reliability and uptime across key systems

  • Reduced recurring failures through structured improvements

  • Strengthened automation performance and system stability

  • Contributed to successful commissioning of new equipment
