Job Description:
Lead, schedule, and supervise the maintenance and repair of lift stations, STEP and low-pressure sewer systems, vacuum sewer systems, reclaimed water distribution systems, and wastewater collection infrastructure
Coordinate daily and weekly work activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of maintenance operations
Inspect maintenance and repair activities to verify quality, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Train, mentor, and develop staff on equipment operation, maintenance practices, safety procedures, and departmental processes
Manage employee scheduling, resource allocation, and work assignments to maximize operational efficiency
Procure parts, materials, and equipment necessary to support maintenance and repair activities
Review and process work orders, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, bid specifications, and other operational documents
Support the implementation and monitoring of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to meet service level expectations
Monitor vehicle and equipment usage, condition, and maintenance needs to ensure operational readiness
Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with County standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations
Work Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- *On-Call is required
About You:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent AND four (4) years of related experience performing maintenance and general operations work in a field related
- -OR- Two (2) year Associate's degree with two (2) years of related work in a field related
- -OR- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with one (1) year of related work in a field related
- -AND- One (1) year of supervisory experience (lead worker or acting in a supervisory capacity may be counted)
- A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the maintenance operation and repair of the mechanical lift station, vacuum sewer, S.T.E.P., and low-pressure systems
- Class C, B, or A State of Florida Collection Certification
- Class A CDL
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years
About Everything Else:
Starting Pay: $31.17/ hour, potentially more based on experience
