  • Full-time, Fixed Term position until 3 September 2027

  • HEW 7 + 17% Superannuation

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campuses however, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the position

The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing high-level project management and specialist support services to the College of Vocational Education (VE), contributing to the successful delivery of strategic initiatives aligned with College and University priorities.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, the position plays a critical role in supporting the planning, coordination, monitoring and implementation of key College initiatives. These may include capital development projects, systems and process improvement projects, student internship programs, and other strategic and operational initiatives that enhance the College’s performance and student experience.

The role works closely with a broad range of stakeholders across the College and University, facilitating workshops, leading project activities, tracking deliverables, and supporting effective project governance. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of project delivery.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and proactive project professional to contribute to meaningful projects that support innovation, continuous improvement and the achievement of RMIT’s strategic objectives.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

1. Project coordination skills and experience managing multiple projects, with proven ability to deliver work to agreed timeframes.

2. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively across all organisational levels and contribute as a productive member of a team.

3. Well-developed organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate workstreams and maintain clear and consistent project documentation across concurrent projects.

4. Ability to research and analyse complex data, produce high quality briefing papers and submissions, and make clear recommendations on risks and issues to inform decision making.

5. Excellent communication skills, with experience facilitating workshops, coaching stakeholders through project management tools and governance with a strong customer service mindset.

6. Strong digital literacy and learning agility to quickly learn and adopt new platforms and systems.

7. Flexible and adaptable with a proven ability to independently work through ambiguity, respond to changing priorities and maintain delivery standards in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management or a related field and/or relevant experience.
