
Cardiac Sonographer Registered Inpatient II
Job Description
Essential Job Function
- Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols with good diagnostic quality.
- Analyzes test data and accurately communicates findings to reading cardiologists to aid in proper diagnosis and treatment planning and ensure seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists.
- Operates, troubleshoots, and requests repair of all testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results and promote patient safety and efficient workflow.
- Maintains professional and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and ensure readiness to respond to any cardiac emergencies that may arise.
- Administers image enhancing agent as ordered to optimize quality of echocardiogram.
- Must complete 4 advanced activities as outlined by departmental career ladder.
- Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 3 years minimum
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular credentialing International (CCI); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider. Meets 4 of the Career Ladder requirements as outlined by departmental career ladder.
