Position Summary: The Measurement Systems & MRO Manufacturing Engineer supports the Turbine Engine module and full engine assembly process by performing a comprehensive Measurement System Analysis (MSA) on critical hand‑measurement steps used in the MRO environment.
Candidates with A&P mechanic experience are strongly preferred, as hands‑on engine maintenance background provides essential insight into measurement variation, tooling behavior, assembly processes, and practical troubleshooting within an active MRO shop.
What You will Do:
- Perform full Measurement System Analysis (MSA) on hand‑measurement processes used in turbine engine module and engine assembly
- Plan, execute, and refine MSA activities including repeatability, reproducibility, bias, linearity, and capability studies
- Evaluate measurement methods, tooling, and fixturing against customer criteria
- Deploy rapid “quick hit” improvements to reduce variation and improve measurement accuracy
- Review established MRO assembly processes and identify opportunities to increase throughput
- Support module and engine assembly teams with technical guidance and problem‑solving
- Apply hands‑on engine maintenance knowledge (A&P experience) to validate measurement methods and identify practical improvements
- Execute short‑duration process improvement projects from concept through validation
- Document findings, measurement data, improvement actions, and recommendations
- Provide weekly progress updates, risks, and next steps to customer stakeholders
- Maintain traceability and compliance with customer standards, LOPs, and MRO requirements
- Collaborate with MRO technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Service Operations, and Design teams
- Work on‑site at a U.S. DoD installation and comply with all access, safety, and security protocols
What You Will Bring:
- U.S. Citizenship (mandatory for DoD base access)
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to NAS Kingsville or NAS Meridian
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related engineering field
- 2+ years of experience in aftermarket engine support, MRO engineering, or manufacturing engineering
- A&P mechanic experience strongly preferred; hands‑on engine maintenance background is highly valuable for understanding measurement variation, tooling behavior, and assembly processes
- Strong understanding of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) principles and execution
- Experience with tooling, fixturing, hand‑measurement methods, and metrology fundamentals
- Knowledge of gas turbine engine components, systems, and assembly processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute short‑duration improvement projects
- Experience working in MRO environments or maintenance shops
- Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating measurement variation and capability
- Ability to work independently on‑site in a fast‑paced MRO environment
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (ME, Quality, MRO, Design, Service Ops)
- Familiarity with SAP, databases, and engineering systems (preferred)
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Pay Range: $34.00-$40.00/hr.
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position with one position located in Kingsville, TX and one position in Meridian, MS
· You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
· Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
