WHO YOU ARE:
You are a highly driven and detail-oriented professional leader ready to manage the Risk, Compliance and Safety programs for the Risk & Security Management (RSM) Department within the Business Operations Division. You are a proactive problem solver with exceptional organizational and communication skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment. You also possess experience guiding and mentoring front-line staff to optimize performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Manager III performs complex (journey-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of a business function, division, or department. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Oversee subject matter experts in the Risk, Compliance and Safety programs.
- Plan the development and implementation of department initiatives and goals.
- Oversee the development of comprehensive reports, policies, plans, and procedures.
- Oversee the work of departmental staff to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Motivate and develop staff, prepare and evaluate budget requests, and monitor expenditures.
- Perform HR functions, such as time and leave and performance evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-Four years of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency, one year of which must have been in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
- Working knowledge of statutes, rules/regulations, standards, guidelines, and best practices involving the department programs in risk management, compliance and safety.
- Coaching, mentoring, training, monitoring, and quality improvement experience.
- Establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools to monitor functions and ensure department goals and priorities are continually met on time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-State agency experience.
-Certified Texas Contract Manager or Project Management Certification
