Scheduler - Full Time

Position Summary 
The Scheduler receives phone calls from physicians, physician offices, and patients and facilitates the scheduling of procedures. The Scheduler is responsible for daily operation of patient scheduling functions. This position involves proficiency in office skills and the requirement to assume responsibility without constant, direct supervision.  

Essential Functions 
-Schedules procedures in the correct time slot indicated for that procedure.  
-Ensures Medical necessity has been checked and appropriate diagnosis given for procedure, if unable makes patient aware of this information. 
-Documents appropriately in account of any concerns with the scheduling of procedure for follow up if necessary.   
-Verifies insurance information and correctly lists in patient's account. 
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives. 
-Reports to and depart from work on time and as scheduled. 
-Performs other duties as assigned. 
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure. 
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). 
 
Work Experience 
-Hospital experience and medical terminology preferred. 
 
Education 
-High school graduate or equivalent preferred.  
-Familiar with computers and knowledge of general clerical duties preferred.
