
Central Operations Resilience & Engineering Team Manager
Job Description
This leader serves as the primary escalation point for complex operational and technical issues and works closely with Site Operations, Design & Construction, Commissioning, Reliability Engineering, and regional teams to turn strategy into measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and Develop the CORE Team
- Lead the Central Operations Resilience and Engineering team, including engineers and program/governance leads.
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
- Set clear expectations, assign accountability, and manage performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and technical issues that impact live operations.
Reduce Operational Risk and Improve Reliability
- Apply disciplined engineering practices to incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
- Ensure repeat events and systemic gaps are identified and eliminated.
- Drive consistent problem-solving standards and decision quality across the team.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational processes, tools, and outcomes.
- Use data, trends, and lessons learned from events to prioritize improvements with the highest risk reduction value.
- Standardize approaches and improve consistency across sites and regions.
Deliver Operational Engineering Work
- Own and manage a defined portfolio of operational engineering initiatives that support live operations.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute work with clear scope, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track progress and outcomes ensuring commitments are met.
Enable Cross-Functional Execution
- Partner closely with Site Operations, Design & Construction, Commissioning, Reliability Engineering, and regional teams.
- Translate strategic direction into executable plans and measurable results.
- Break down cross-functional barriers and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Experience/Education
Required
- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other related technical field) or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience in mission critical industry with at least 4 years as a manager of a technical team supporting live, mission-critical operations.
- Strong background in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
- Proven ability to manage complex work portfolios with clear accountability and results.
- Strong collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
Preferred
- Experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or other high-reliability environments.
- Experience managing both technical contributors and program/governance-focused roles.
- Demonstrated success driving operational risk reduction and reliability improvements at scale.
