This is more than just a teaching position; it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the fields of experience and product design, guiding and inspiring the next generation of product builders to focus on the intersection of human-centred design, emerging technologies, product management and service ecosystems.
Within our vibrant Media, Arts & Design School community, you'll be part of a team dedicated to excellence and innovation in education. You'll play a crucial role in nurturing and shaping the minds of students in both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses, focusing on the ever-evolving landscape of digital design and user experience.
Expertise we need:
The candidate should possess skill sets, knowledge, and industry experience in designing and/or building digital products including mobile applications, websites, & digital interfaces.
The best candidate will have extensive experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative UX research methodologies to drive strategic business decisions and define clear product metrics.
We are looking for candidates with expertise in:
1. User Interface Design - Figma, Prototyping, Design Systems
2. User Experience Research - Behavioural Design, UX Research Methods
3. Service Design - Service Blueprint, Service Design Principles
4. Web and App Development - Software Development Lifecycle
5. Digital Product Management - Product Metrics, Digital Product Lifecycle
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire students through innovative teaching methodologies across polytechnic students and adult learners.
- Develop curriculum materials that prepare students for real-world challenges, actively contributing to the advancement of design education.
- Manage and oversee the modules you lead, ensuring they are delivered effectively and continue to evolve with industry trends.
- Provide support, both administratively and pastorally, to ensure the success of our diploma courses and the well-being of our students.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders, enriching our students' learning experience with real-world projects and insights.
- Participate actively in professional development opportunities, including industrial research and collaboration projects, to remain at the forefront of your field.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in managing and scaling design teams in a technology, innovation, and product-driven environment.
- A passion and enthusiasm for working with youths, nurturing them and moulding their characters.
- Relevant qualifications in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related programmes.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Experience with Figma for Digital Product Design (UI/UX design, digital prototyping, animation, mobile, web), and Front-end development (HTML, CSS, Javascript) is essential.
- Previous experience in teaching, mentoring, or curriculum development, especially in a design or technology-focused environment will be an advantage.
