SEASONAL - Parks Maintenance Worker SIMD (PT Maintenance Support) 

About this Job: In this position, you will assist with the maintenance of medians, rights-of-way, and parks for either Briargate, Norwood, or Stetson Hills SIMD.

Job Type: Seasonal

Work Schedule: Normal hours worked will be Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Schedule may include some weekends and holidays.

This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).

Approximate dates of employment will be May through September. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.


As a Parks Maintenance Worker - SIMD, you will:
  • Mow, trim, weed, aerate, seed, top dress, edge, and rake
  • Maintain and repair irrigation systems
  • Pick up trash
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment such as trucks, trailers, riding and push mowers, and tractors
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools
  • Have landscape or facility maintenance experience
  • Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restrictions.
  • Experience working with irrigation systems
  • Specialized training in landscaping or grounds maintenance
Physical Demands: The ability to stand, sit, stoop, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds occasionally is also required.

Environmental Conditions: This position requires working outside in all weather conditions and along high traffic areas.
