Hourly Rate: $23.00 
Schedule: Monday–Friday availability required between 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

 
Position Summary

MVD Express is seeking a hands-on Branch Manager to lead daily operations at one of our Albuquerque/Rio Rancho retail branch locations. This role combines active motor vehicle transaction processing with branch leadership, operational accountability, and team development.

The Branch Manager works alongside their team to process motor vehicle transactions while overseeing financial accuracy, compliance with New Mexico state regulations, customer service standards, and overall branch performance. This is a fast-paced, high-accountability position that requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to lead by example.

The Branch Manager will work closely with Operations leadership on branch decisions, staffing needs, performance concerns, procedural changes, and overall business priorities to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational success.

What You Will Do

Lead the Branch

  • Supervise, coach, and develop retail team members
  • Conduct evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback
  • Address employee relations matters in partnership with HR and Operations leadership
  • Approve leave requests and maintain employee schedules based on business needs
  • Hold regular staff meetings and reinforce operational standards
  • Partner with Operations leadership when making decisions that impact staffing, performance, workflow, or branch operations

Process Motor Vehicle Transactions

  • Process titles, registrations, renewals, and other motor vehicle transactions
  • Assist with complex, escalated, or sensitive transactions
  • Maintain transaction accuracy and compliance standards
  • Become TSA certified as required
  • Support the team by actively processing transactions during daily operations

Manage Daily Operations

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all retail transactions
  • Maintain compliance with MVD Express policies and New Mexico state regulations
  • Communicate regulatory updates, procedural changes, and operational expectations to staff
  • Maintain structured workflow, service efficiency, and accountability throughout the branch
  • Work closely with Operations leadership to resolve operational concerns and improve branch performance
  • Must be able to assist at any location

Financial Oversight

  • Balance daily transactions and reconcile funds
  • Prepare and verify deposits
  • Ensure accuracy in reporting, documentation, and financial controls
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies or financial concerns promptly

Maintain Branch Standards

  • Maintain office supplies and state inventory supplies
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive customer, employee, and company information
  • Communicate operational issues, staffing concerns, and customer service trends to leadership
  • Represent MVD Express with professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Foster a respectful, team-oriented, and customer-focused work environment

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience
  • Ability to support and assist at any MVD Express branch location based on operational needs
  • Strong knowledge of motor vehicle title and registration processes a plus
  • Ability to process high-volume transactions accurately
  • Valid New Mexico Driver’s License required
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to successfully pass a motor vehicle record review
  • Ability to obtain TSA certification
  • Strong financial reconciliation and cash-handling skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to lead in a structured, fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • Ability to partner with Operations leadership and follow established decision-making processes

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to review detailed documents and computer screens for accuracy
  • Ability to work in a busy office environment with frequent customer interaction
