Job Description

🌱 About us

Greenly was founded in 2019 by Alexis, Matthieu and Arnaud with one mission: make carbon management as essential as financial management.

Today, we are a global leader in carbon accounting, proudly B-Corp certified and part of the French Tech 120. Our climate suite combines smart data collection with intuitive automation, helping companies measure, reduce, and report their emissions with ease β€” supported at every step by our in-house climate experts. πŸ’š

More than 3,500 companies in 20+ countries use Greenly to manage their climate strategy: from carbon assessments and life-cycle analyses to SBTi trajectories and compliance with CSRD and CBAM.

We are now a team of 200+ people from 40+ nationalities, based in Paris, London, Barcelona, and New York. 🌎

To date, we’ve tracked over 200 million tons of COβ‚‚ through our platform. Our next milestone: 10,000 clients and one billion tons of CO2 under management.

🌱 Our Values

  • Ambition for climate: Minimize GHG emissions, maximize climate impact

  • Deliver with agility: Work in small increments: fail fast, learn fast, win fast

  • Own your opportunities: Achieve outstanding results by showing initiative and accountability

  • Feedback paves the way: Succeed as a team by helping others progress

🌱  About the team

You'll be part of the staff team, reporting directly to our CEO (Alexis) and COO (Laetitia) 🀝. The role sits at the intersection of the CEO office, finance, strategy, investor relations, M&A and business operations β€” a high-exposure seat close to the company's most important strategic decisions: board discussions, investor communication, capital allocation, performance management and complex strategic projects. πŸš€

🌱 About the role

A note before you apply: this isn't a traditional opening with a fixed deadline and pipeline. We're not in a rush to fill it β€” we're open to meeting exceptional people. ✨ If the right person makes a compelling case, we'll move forward. Please apply if you're genuinely excited about the opportunity, and don't read anything into a slow or absent response β€” it reflects the exploratory nature of this process, not your profile.

This intentionally broad position is designed for someone who wants to understand how a company is run end-to-end πŸ”, from board and investor communication to budgeting, M&A, performance management and operational execution. Over time, it can become a platform for broader leadership responsibilities. πŸ“ˆ

1. CEO office & strategic execution 🧭 β€” Act as a close partner to the CEO on high-priority topics: prepare strategic memos, decision documents and executive presentations; support CEO-level prioritization and follow-up; help prepare leadership meetings, board meetings and investor updates; coordinate cross-functional projects across finance, sales, product, customer success, legal and operations; translate strategy into clear operating priorities; identify bottlenecks, risks and execution gaps; and support sensitive, confidential initiatives.

2. KPI leadership & business steering πŸ“Š β€” Strengthen Greenly's KPI architecture: translate the annual budget into operational KPIs; improve business planning and scenario analysis; help define the trajectory across growth, profitability and cash; track key indicators (ARR, bookings, churn, NRR, gross margin, burn, runway, sales efficiency); help leadership understand the financial implications of their decisions; and strengthen budget ownership across teams.

3. Corporate development, M&A & strategic transactions 🀝 β€” Support Greenly's corporate development agenda in a consolidating market: analyse acquisition, merger and partnership opportunities; build investment cases; prepare valuation and synergy analyses; support due diligence; work with investors, lawyers, bankers and advisors; prepare board materials for transactions; and help design and track post-merger integration and value creation.

4. Investor relations, board communication & governance πŸ’¬ β€” Help prepare board decks, investor updates, financing and lender/banking materials, strategic financial narratives, and performance reviews β€” communicating Greenly's performance, strategy and trajectory with clarity, rigor and credibility.

5. Performance management & operating discipline βš™οΈ β€” Improve management reporting and CEO/leadership dashboards; track budget vs. actuals; analyse performance by segment, geography, product or team; identify productivity and margin opportunities; clarify KPI ownership; support bonus/incentive calculations; and improve recurring business reviews.

🌱 Skills to succeed

🀩 You are a great fit if you:

  • Have 4–8 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, a CFO office, or strategic finance in a SaaS/B2B software company 🎯

  • Have strong project management skills β€” able to drive complex, cross-functional projects end-to-end 🧭

  • Bring strong finance skills β€” excellent analytical and financial modelling ability, with a solid understanding of corporate finance πŸ“Š

  • Are bilingual: at least C1 in both English and French πŸ—£οΈ

  • Have strong business judgment and can move from high-level strategy to operational detail

  • Have a genuine interest in M&A and strategic transactions 🀝

  • Are comfortable working directly with senior executives, investors and board members, with the maturity to handle confidential, high-stakes topics

  • Have strong written and verbal communication, and can simplify complex issues πŸ’¬

  • Bring strong ownership and reliability, and are comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data

  • Are structured and rigorous, analytical but business-oriented, ambitious but humble, pragmatic and hands-on

  • Are interested in company-building, not just analysis, with the ambition to grow into a senior finance or corporate leadership role 🌟

πŸ‘Œ Nice to have:

  • Education from a top engineering or business school πŸŽ“

  • A background or strong interest in climate, ESG, or the energy transition 🌱

  • Experience with corporate development, due diligence, or post-merger integration

It's totally fine if you don't tick every box β€” if you're excited about the role and bring most of what we're looking for, we'd still love to hear from you. πŸ™

🌱 Perks & benefits

  • πŸ’° Competitive salary package

  • πŸ“ Beautiful offices in the heart of Paris (9ᡉ arrondissement)

  • 🏠 Flexible remote work options

  • βš’οΈ Top-notch tools to help you do your best work

  • 🩺 Private medical insurance with Alan (including mental health support), 100% covered

  • πŸš… 50% Navigo reimbursement for public transport

  • πŸ₯— Sustainable lunch vouchers via Ekip

  • 🀸 Partial coverage of your Gymlib subscription

  • 🀝 A culture of autonomy, transparency, and collaboration β€” with a team of highly talented, committed people

🌱 The recruitment process

  • Meet our COO (Laetitia) for an introduction to the role

  • Prepare and present a case study exercise

  • Two final conversations with our founders β€” Alexis (CEO) and Arnaud (CMO)

  • Provide us with 2 references to complete the recruitment process

  • We welcome you during our onboarding week! πŸ₯³

We’re a team shaped by diverse experiences and ideas. If you’re excited about the role but don’t match every requirement, we still encourage you to apply β€” you may be the right person for the team. πŸ™
