We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Coil Fabricator to join our night shift team in Taneytown, MD. The ideal candidate will maintain a positive and professional attitude, work effectively within a team, and operate machinery safely and efficiently to meet production and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive, professional, and cooperative attitude at all times.
- Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, and time management.
- Work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from senior operators and supervisors.
- Operate departmental machinery safely and efficiently (e.g., hydro-expander, mechanical expander).
- Set up coils with minimal supervision, including:
- Stacking
- Drying
- Swaging
- Power washing
- Detailing
- Train and instruct entry-level coil operators on proper procedures and best practices.
- Safely operate a 10-ton overhead crane to move coils.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company regulations.
- Assist in other areas of the plant as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and work rules.
- Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter with a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret coil prints and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in:
- Coil setup and orientation
- Determining fin pack length
- Lacing coil circuitries
- Drying and swaging processes
- Installing U-bends
- Power washing and detailing procedures
- Safe operation of overhead cranes
- Ability to read a measuring tape to 1/32 of an inch.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools.
- Ability to work under the supervision of department supervisors and senior operators.
- Capable of setting up and constructing coils to required standards.
- Must meet all quality and production targets.
- Must learn and follow all safety procedures for equipment, department, and facility.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work performed in an industrial setting (factory and/or outdoor environment).
- Requires frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
- Ability to lift:
- Up to 50 lbs independently
- 100+ lbs with assistance or mechanical support
- Standard schedule is Monday–Friday; overtime may include Saturdays and occasional Sundays.
- May be required to work swing or graveyard shifts based on business needs.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Safety glasses (Z87+ or approved side shields)
- Hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs)
- Cut-resistant gloves and sleeves when handling materials
- Steel or composite toe boots/shoes
- Bump caps when using overhead cranes or entering units
- Face shield when grinding or cutting

- Salary range includes base pay, most recent profit-sharing bonus amounts, and applicable shift differentials

Pay Range: $49,071.36 - $64,571.52 per year
