Job Description
To ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting by maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, overseeing month- end close processes, and supporting project accounting activities. The GL Accountant plays a critical role in enabling strong financial controls and informed decision-making within the organization. Brief Responsibilities are as follows:

Operational:
• Construction and Project Accounting:.
• Record, monitor, and reconcile project-related costs, including materials, subcontractor charges, and labor.
• Work closely with project teams to validate financial impacts of variations, claims, and project timelines.
• Maintain detailed audit trails for all construction project entries and cost reclassifications.
• Controls, Compliance & Audit .
• Ensure adherence to IFRS and local regulatory standards, including FTA requirements for VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, GL reconciliations, and supporting documents. .
• Implement and monitor internal controls over GL processes, reducing risk and ensuring accuracy.
• Prepare tax-related reconciliations (VAT returns, Withholding Tax, etc.) in coordination with the tax team ERP Systems & Process Improvement.
People Management:
• Working collaboratively with peers/colleagues within and outside department.
Product/Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for automation and process improvements to reduce manual interventions.
• Assist in ERP data migration, integration, and testing related to GL and project accounting modules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Treasury, Project Finance) to streamline financial operations.
Education & Certifications:
• MINIMUM " Relevant bachelor's degree in relevant field " Relevant professional qualification.
• Chartered Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CA and similar), CIMA, CMA, CFA PREFERRED " Master's degree in related field.
Knowledge & Skill:
• Analytical, problem solving, decision making & time management skills. " Well versed with ERP systems (.
• Oracle, SAP. and Estate Master Real Estate Software). " Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Deep Understanding & updated knowledge on IFRS, IAS's & VAT.
Experience:
• 3 years & above of total work experience (Preferred: with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role) Experience in the Middle East.
