Broker Trading Analyst

Role Description

As Broker Trading Analyst, you will support trading performance by delivering data-driven insights that shape strategy, optimise outcomes, and drive meaningful business decisions across our insurance trading environment. This is a great opportunity to build your analytical and commercial impact within a collaborative, insight-led team.

This role sits centrally within Allianz and you will work with functions across the business with the aim of achieving planned profit and growth targets.

Location: This role is a hybrid role, based in either our London or Chelmsford office.

 

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £40,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

About You

• Visualise complex data clearly, creating dashboards and outputs that translate insights into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives.

• Perform market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour, using findings to inform trading and product decisions
• Support the commercial function with insight that drives trading performance and strategic priorities
• Collaborate with claims, trading, and wider business teams to build a clear view of our trading position
• Analyse claims and trading data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities
• Develop and monitor KPIs, reporting regularly on performance and business developments
• Turn insight into meaningful, tangible actions – demonstrating recent experience of influencing decisions and driving outcomes
• Evaluate trading strategies and recommend improvements based on data-driven findings
• Prepare and present insights in trading meetings to support informed decision-making
• Design and coordinate reporting outputs that effectively communicate performance to stakeholders

 

Essential Skills

• Experience analysing and interpreting large, complex datasets to turn analysis into meaningful business actions and measurable outcomes
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to present data clearly and effectively
• Strong research skills, including the ability to independently source and validate information (“self-serve” research)
• Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting insights to a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to collaborate across teams to understand business performance and align insights to strategic goals
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
• Awareness of trading environments; this role sits within insurance but prior insurance experience is not essential

Desirable Skills

• Experience within the insurance or financial services sector
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools and dashboard creation
• Basic coding or analytical tool experience (e.g. SQL, Python)
• Experience supporting commercial or trading decision-making environments
• Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage
