Role Purpose
The SAM Governance Analyst supports the TGO function by enabling governance, validation, and coordination activities across the Software Asset Management lifecycle.
This role focuses on data validation, reporting, governance support, and cross-functional coordination to ensure compliance and effective license management.
Key Responsibilities
Governance Support
- Support the implementation and maintenance of SAM governance processes and controls
- Assist in preparing materials for governance forums and decision-making meetings
- Track adherence to SAM policies and control checkpoints
Data Validation & Reporting
- Perform validation checks on software asset data, reports, and reconciliation outputs
- Support the preparation of license position reports and dashboards
- Identify data inconsistencies and escalate issues
Demand & Optimization Support
- Assist in validating entitlement availability before procurement requests
- Support analysis of software usage data to identify optimization opportunities
- Track and report on license utilization and optimization actions
Compliance & Process Monitoring
- Monitor execution of SAM processes to ensure alignment with defined governance standards
- Support tracking of remediation actions related to compliance gaps
- Assist in ensuring contract and PO data are accurately reflected in systems
Coordination & Stakeholder Support
- Coordinate with:
- SAM Admin for data inputs
- SAM Manager for reconciliation outputs
- Procurement teams for entitlement validation
- Support communication and follow-up on governance decisions
Required Experience & Skills
Experience
- 2 years in IT Asset Management, SAM, IT operations, or data analysis
- Exposure to software licensing or asset management processes preferred
Core Skills
- Strong attention to detail and data validation capability
- Strong knowledge Excel / reporting tools
- Familiarity with ITSM / SAM tools (ServiceNow preferred)
- Basic understanding of software licensing concepts
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
