Job Description
IMEG is seeking a highly qualified Certified Bridge Inspector – Team Leader to join our team in Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing bridge inspections in accordance with federal and Florida requirements while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- FHWA National Highway Institute (NHI) certification: Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (FHWA-NHI-130055)
- Qualified and certified to inspect bridges and ancillary structures in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience serving as a Certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader conducting bridge and ancillary structure inspections.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
- Strong technical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Florida as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with routine, fracture critical, complex, movable, and special inspections.
- Experience preparing inspection reports and recommendations using FDOT bridge inspection software and documentation standards.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is a plus but not required.

- Underwater Bridge Inspection (FHWA-NHI-130091)
- Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures (FHWA-NHI-130087)
- Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (FHWA-NHI- 130078)
Responsibilities:
- Lead bridge inspection teams in performing routine and specialized inspections of bridges and ancillary structures.
- Ensure inspections are completed in compliance with FHWA, NBIS, and FDOT requirements.
- Document inspection findings, identify structural deficiencies, and recommend maintenance or repair actions.
- Prepare accurate, timely inspection reports and maintain required records.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Maintain all required certifications and participate in continuing education and training.
